The Rector
Today TSU is one of the six universities participating in the pilot project of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science on transformation of the Russian higher education system. We have established the Advanced Engineering School "Agrobiotech", which implements projects and trains personnel in the field of agro-, bio-, and eco-technologies. I would like to add that in 2028 TSU will celebrate its 150th anniversary.
About the University
Tomsk State University (TSU) was founded on May 28, 1878. It is the first Russian university on the territory of Russian Asia, one of the three dozen national research universities. Tomsk State University includes 22 faculties and educational institutes, about 150 departments. Multilevel training of specialists, interdisciplinary programs, open lectures, individual study plans, more than 120 directions and specialties, as well as more than 240 profiles - all this is our university. There are 600 professors, doctors of science and 1300 candidates of science working at the faculties and research centers. Tomsk University is a large educational and research complex, a leading classical research-type university, a recognized center of science, education and innovation.
